SNOW REMOVAL & PARKING REGULATIONS REMINDER
Disposal of Ice & Snow:
All sidewalks shall be kept free of ice & snow. When it is impossible to remove the ice from such walk, the occupant shall sprinkle some suitable material upon same to prevent the walk from becoming slippery & dangerous to travel.
Any accumulated snow shall be removed within 24 hours after snowfall. Snow shall be moved to an area that does not impact vehicular & pedestrian traffic as well as your neighbor’s property. In addition, any snow removal from sidewalks, driveways & parking areas shall not be deposited upon streets/alleys if they have already been cleared by the City. (Ord. 7-301)
Parking - Snow Removal & Street Cleaning:
The downtown area has been designated & signed as “No Parking” from 4:00 to 7:00 a.m. in order for the Street Department to efficiently clean the streets & remove any snow accumulations. (Ord. 8-208)
Parking – Emergency Snow Removal:
When a “Snow Removal Alert” is declared because of a snow accumulation of 4” or more, no parking is allowed on Pine Street & Wray Avenue for 48 hours or until the snow has been cleared. The public will be alerted of said snow removal emergency via CodeRED and on the city website.
Parking - Sidewalks:
Vehicles shall not be parked on or over sidewalks—obstructing or impeding pedestrian traffic. This is for everyone’s safety & aids in snow removal.
Violation of the above ordinances are subject to fees & fines as established by the City.
